Aimee Kravette is a Figure Skating Coach and IJS National Technical Specialist, with over 30 years of professional coaching experience.
She is currently based in Los Angeles, CA.
About
Aimee has over 30 years of coaching experience, ranging from first time skaters, through National and International Competitors. She is passionate about coaching each student to their full potential, whether the goal is to simply participate comfortably in skating classes, or become a high level competitive skater. Her coaching philosophy includes: focusing on the positive values gained through skating (and sports in general); the importance of a good foundation and excellent technique; and developing values that can be applied inside and outside of skating.
Background
Aimee is a two time World Professional Medalist (bronze and silver respectfully), and US Open professional medalist. She is a double gold medalist in Figures and Freestyle in the United States (USFS), Canada (Formerly known as the Canadian Figure Skating Association, now called Skate Canada), and Internationally (ISU). She has also passed through the pre-gold level in Ice Dance in the United States.
As an amatuer, Aimee won numerous Sectional and Regional titles on both the east and west coasts, and competed in the United States Championships at the highest level (Senior Ladies) four years in a row, consistently finishing in the top 10. She has also competed Internationally at the Senior Level.
Education and Certifications
Aimee earned her degree in Child Development at California State University Northridge, specializing in early childhood development and psychology. This gives her a unique advantage when teaching pre-school aged children, and she tailors each Learn to Skate Class and private lesson to be developmentally appropriate for the children/child involved.
